Pineapple chili piñata hot sauce

We all loved piñatas when we were kids, hell we still do! But now that we are adults we like our piñatas a bit more spicy and thats why we created Pineapple chili piñata! With a blend of smoked chili’s and smoked pineapple this one is sure to send you on a mouth and eye watering adventure.

Recipe 

2 Habanero chilis

20 Birdseye chilis

1 Lare pineapple

1/2 Cup of white wine

5 Cloves of garlic

1/2 Cup White vinegar

1 ts pepper

1 ts Salt

1 tbs Sugar

Zest of 1 lemon

Juice of one lemon

1 tbs Apricot jam

1/2 Cup of water

Method

Put chilis and chopped pineapple on a skewer and smoke on the BBQ with the lid closed for 30 minutes. Once smoked chop and put in a large pot. Chop garlic and add to the pot. Also add the lemon zest and the lemon juice. Simmer while stirring occasionally for 20 mins. Add white wine, pepper, salt and apricot jam and simmer for a further 30 mins. Add the mixture into a blender and add water. Blend until a smooth paste, put in jars, pour on your plate and enjoy! Like all chili sauce it gets better once it has matured in the fridge for a day or 2. But can still be enjoyed immediately.

This mixtures makes 1.5L
